Adidas and Manchester United today unveiled their new home kit for the 2022-23 season. Inspired by Manchester United's history, the shirt is the first time the iconic Polo collar has been incorporated into a home shirt since Adidas re-partnered with the club in 2015.

The new home jersey is based on many classic jersey designs from the team's history, with a white Polo collar and a red geometric shape evolved from the club's signature "M" letter in a nod to the classic. The "M" letter element has also appeared in successive United shirts, including the famous "Snowflake" shirt.

The new season's shirt is based on Manchester United's classic red colour scheme, with pinstripes in the same tone added to the body, which collide with the black three stripes across the shoulder, creating an impact effect.

Adidas design director Inigo Turner said: "The Polo collar is a symbol of Manchester United. Whether up or down, it has seen many of the club's highlights. Looking back on the club's long history, we wanted to pay tribute to the classic shirts and legendary names of the team's past with this design. We will take a fresh look at the design and patterns that represent the DNA of the team, and we hope to bring the heritage of Manchester United into the present."

The new players' home jersey is made of recycled fabric with the concept of sustainable development as the core. Equipped with Adidas HEAT.RDY technology, promote perspiration and air circulation, create a dry and comfortable feeling, and help players cool on the court. The fan version of the home jersey is equipped with AEROREADY technology, which absorbs sweat, creates a dry body and keeps fans prepared.
