JAKO teamed up with VfB Stuttgart to launch a special 1992 kit for the game ahead of the crucial Bundesliga finale against FC Koln. The shirt successfully recreated the most important features of Stuttgart's 1991-92 season, bringing fans back to that legendary championship season.

On May 16, 1992, Stuttgart's end-of-season trip to Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the players wore white shirts featuring vertical stripes throughout the body, and the 1992 special is based on that championship shirt. The combination of the collar design, red toothed stripes extending from the shoulders to the chest and red stripes on the sleeves dates back to the regular 1991-92 home edition of the team's jersey. Another feature of the home jersey from 30 years ago was the red box around the sponsor's advertisements on the chest. Finally, the nostalgic JAKO SPORT logo adds the final piece to the retro design puzzle.

"This particular jersey shows that through our close collaboration with JAKO we are always able to implement ideas that fit perfectly with the club, not just with the equipment available," Alexander Wehrle, Stuttgart's chief executive, said: "The shirt is linked to the spirit of 1992 and should inspire us and bring us good luck against Cologne on Saturday. We have won the last four games wearing the JAKO Special Edition jersey and I hope to continue that momentum."
