Italian club Venezia FC took another step forward in its brand evolution journey on July 1, unveiling a new brand image. Led by the world renowned design studio Bureau Borsche from Munich, the new brand's bold and thoughtful design leads the club into a new era while respecting tradition.

The Lion of Saint Mark is a symbol of the city and has long been at the heart of the Venetian club brand. Studio Bureau Borsche cleverly designed a powerful V-shaped emblem that seamlessly integrates modern interpretations of the historical symbol in a more minimalist and abstract form, creating a new image of the Flying Lion that is more dignified, ferocious and stylish than before. As a clever thought, the horizontal lines representing the winged lion's wings are a clear reference to the copper trim and steel teeth on the bow of Venice's famous Gondola. The top of the V is painted with the club's signature orange and green colours, in the shape of a flying orange and green flag.
In addition, the Winged Lion of the Venetian Club has been restored to gold from the previous white version, which is a major historic change. The Winged Lions have been gold for almost all of the club's 114-year history, switching to white between 1997 and 2005 and returning again in 2013 and 2015 before continuing into last season.
Alongside the launch of the new brand image, the Venezia club also showed off the 2022-23 pre-match shirt, the first time the V-shaped emblem designed by studio Bureau Borsche has been physically displayed, and it will also appear on the new home and away shirts due to be released in July.
The 2022-23 pre-match kit has a distinct street look, featuring an edgy orange, black and green plaid design, wavy textures throughout the plaid, and a brand new club crest. The kit also kicks off the second year of the Venetian club's partnership with Kappa.
The pre-match promotional images for the 2022-23 season were shot by Veneto-born New York-based photographer Alessandro Simonetti and modelled by Venetian actor Daniele Barison. Barison is known for his leading role in Yuri Ancarani's film Atlantide, a Venezi-set youth drama revolving around the craze for motorboats, which premiered at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival.
