Nike has teamed up with English Premier League football Club Chelsea FC to unveil the team's new second away kit for the 2022-23 season, featuring a classic design that continues Chelsea's gold standard while seamlessly fitting into the stylish south-west of London.
The second away kit is inspired by the concept of "Chelsea Smart". It's a clash of classic and trendy, representing a period of flourishing for the club and the perfect part of creating the future of West London fashion.
The yellow away shirt has played a part in the club's history and the new sesame colour is a step up from that, so familiar yet new.
Nike jerseys are produced sustainably, with both the player and fan versions made from 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down To make high-quality yarn as part of Nike's "Move To Zero" commitment To sustainability.
This time, the club's new kit was photographed at Fulham's River Cafe, no doubt appropriately enough. It's a restaurant near Putney Bridge with an exclusive 1960s charm. Wearing the jersey is the founder of the Soho Yacht Club and a Blues fan. Soho Yacht Club is an upstart West London streetwear brand that is pushing the boundaries of fashion, just as Chelsea FC has done on and off the pitch.
