New Balance and Portugal-based FC Porto have unveiled their new second away kit for the 2022-23 season.
The new shirt design celebrates Porto's beginnings as a football powerhouse, incorporating the blue of the club's first European Cup Winners' Cup final in 1984. That particular moment marked the beginning of Porto's international influence, the start of a remarkable journey as Portugal's most decorated team at international level.
Porto's star midfielder Vitinha said: "It's great to see such a powerful design to celebrate the Dragon. I've had a lot of special moments here and, like everyone else on the team, I'm looking forward to wearing the shirt on the road."
Kenny McCallum, general manager of football at New Balance, added: "The Fire Dragons Stadium has seen so many great wins, with the fans singing loudly and the atmosphere unparalleled. The new second away shirt recognises the importance of the stadium in the tradition of FC Porto and for many seasons to come.
The release is part of New Balance's "Unbreakable by Nature" campaign for Porto's new season. Inspired by the unique style of internationally renowned photographer Justin Bettman, New Balance worked with Justin to extend its creative vision, not only to showcase the new design, but also to highlight the connection between the club and the city.
New Balance has applied leading edge design technology to all 2022-23 series jerseys to ensure superior athletic performance. The jersey equipped with NB Dry technology helps to absorb and expel sweat, keeping the human body cool and dry during sports, and helping athletes to focus and perform well in games.
