Adidas and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) today unveiled the Mexican national team's new away kit, which will be worn by Mexican players during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Adidas sees the jersey as a canvas for creativity, hoping to capture and deliver the cultural story of each country by incorporating elements that are representative of the local culture.

Inspired by the rich graphic elements of the pre-Spanish colonial era in Mexico's collective memory, the design of the New Jersey is integrated with the country's cultural symbols:
Malinalli: a blossoming herb, which can reach heaven and connect nine secluded areas;
Conch shell (Caracol) : Wind and spirit, representing the first and last breath of life. Conch is associated with the Lord of the Dawn (Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli), representing a new day. In December, conches are associated with Xolotl, which represents dusk and leads to death. They were all closely related to Quetzalcoatl;
Voluta: a vibrant symbol representing truth, poetry and song;
Baston: as a symbol of supreme power, it is also the weapon of Quetzalcoatl;
New Fire (Fuego Nuevo) : Rubbing the sacred wood and erupting flames, it also represents a complete Aztec calendar cycle (52 years).

These images on the away shirt show the history, roots and culture of the Mexican country, bringing knowledge and power to the field in Qatar. It is not just a shirt, but a armor full of magic, power and poetry.

The jerseys are made from recycled polyester and are designed to highlight Adidas' ongoing commitment to helping end plastic waste. The player version is comfortable and breathable, with 50% Parley Ocean Plastic. The Marine eco-friendly material is sourced from remote islands, beaches, coastal areas and coastlines in an effort to reduce Marine pollution. Each jersey is made of innovative Adidas fabrics, including light thermal transfer design and HEAT.RDY thermal technology to help players stay cool and comfortable.

The new away kit represents the quest of all Mexicans to keep writing new victories in the history of El Tri. The fan version of the jersey is made of AEROREADY fabric, which absorbs sweat and creates a dry body feeling, so that fans can be prepared.
The new shirts will be dropped for the first time on August 31 when Mexico play Paraguay in a friendly at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
