PUMA, the world's leading sportswear brand, today unveiled Borussia Dortmund's new away kit for the 2022-23 season. Inspired by the sea of flags waved by Hornets fans, the new Borussia Dortmund away shirt is dominated by black and decorated with square elements symbolizing the waving of the flag, highlighting the strong cultural heritage of the Prussian club Dortmund. The shirt will make its debut when Borussia Dortmund play Dynamo Dresden in a friendly on July 9.
Throughout its 113-year history, Borussia Dortmund's fans have always been an important part of the club's philosophy and goals, blending people and traditions from different generations. Together with the club, they have long created Dortmund's own fan culture. Every two weeks in Germany you will find a group of fans wearing yellow and black shirts strutting their way to an away Bundesliga match. The new away kit brings the iconic "ocean of flags" to the pitch.
The new Borussia Dortmund away shirt for the 2022-23 season is visually presented in large areas of black, with a V-shaped neckline and cuffs outlined in bright yellow. The grey square, symbolizing the flying flag, pays homage to the unique fan culture of Prussian Dortmund. In keeping with the new home shirt, the German motto "Borussia Verindet" is also written on the neck of the new away shirt, reminding every Prussian Dortmund that any difficulty can be overcome as long as everyone stays united.
Borussia Dortmund's away kit for the 2022-23 season will contain two versions. The player version will feature ULTRAWEAVE, PUMA's lightest performance jersey fabrics ever, and dryCELL Sweat Technology, a lightweight, four-sided fabric that combines spande-elastic threads into the yarn to make the fabric elastic in both directions. Help players and teams to be faster, more energetic and achieve better athletic performance on the field. The fan version will feature 100% recyclable polyester fabric and classic dryCELL Sweat Technology.
