Adidas and the Argentine Football Association (AFA) today unveiled Argentina's new home kit for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, marking the start of the team's journey.

Second only to the national flag, Argentina's national shirt is a symbol of national pride. Guided by the new slogan "El Sentimiento de UN Pais" (" The Emotion of a Nation "), the new shirts are designed to pay tribute to Argentina's national feelings and identity and help unite all the teams and fans of the AFA.

The New Jersey is classic white and sky blue, with two elements of the Argentine flag on the back: the first is a center stripe, symbolizing a hanging flag, like the ones fans hang from their balconies during the World Cup; The second is the "May Sun" on the back collar, which is part of Argentina's national flag and emblem.

Soccer is an integral part of Argentina's traditional culture, bringing family and friends together to wave flags in front of a screen or on the sidelines. The new shirts also represent the passion of Argentina's fans, which is expected to unite the team.

"Football is synonymous with Argentina," said Pablo Lamo, general manager of Adidas Argentina. As the home of many international soccer greats, Argentina has deep and strong ties to soccer. Soccer is not only a sport, but also a symbol of Argentine national identity. The sun on the flag is a symbol of glory, as Argentina's national football team won the World Cup twice in 1978 and 1986 and reached the World Cup finals twice."

Andrew Dolan, product manager for apparel at Adidas, said: 'The shirt speaks to the core of the Argentine spirit. Throughout football's history, Argentina's blue-and-white striped colours have symbolised skill and footwork on the pitch, as well as an unrivaled passion for the game. With the 2022 World Cup just around the corner, we wanted to recreate the design that symbolized victory and help players and fans celebrate this major global football event."

The Argentinean players' version of the shirt is made of renewable material and uses Adidas HEAT.RDY technology to help players stay cool and dry. The fan version of the jersey is equipped with AEROREADY technology, which absorbs sweat and creates a dry body, keeping fans prepared.

On July 9, Argentina's women's national soccer team will play Brazil at the Centurylink Stadium in Colombia. The New Jersey will be unveiled for the first time.
