New Balance, the world's leading sports brand, has teamed up with Athletic Bilbao to unveil the team's new home kit for the 2022-23 season.
Traditional beauty was the inspiration behind the New Jersey design, with the Basque club's famous red-and-white striped shirt cementing the classic image with fine details and the Basque flag on the back of the collar. The jersey also introduced a small black stand collar and cuffs, which were paired with black shorts and socks to create a perfect ensemble.
Star forward Inaki Williams said: "The New Jersey is fantastic, it's a classic design that celebrates our great history. It means a lot to the people here to see us proudly wearing the red and white stripes of the Athletic Club, so I'm sure the fans will fall in love with the design as much as we do."
Kenny McCallum, managing director of football at New Balance, added: "There is no other club in the world with the tradition and philosophy of doing things like Athletic. The design of the new season is heavily influenced by this legacy and unveils the club's strong kit range for the 2022-23 season."
The launch is part of New Balance's "Born, Bred, Basque" campaign for Athletic Bilbao's new season, which highlights the club's links with the local family, philosophy and culture. Inspired by the unique style of internationally renowned photographer Justin Bettman, New Balance worked with Justin to extend the creative concept, not only showcasing the new design, but also highlighting the connection between the club and the city.
New Balance has applied leading design technology to all of its 2022-23 collection of jerseys to ensure superior athletic performance. The jerseys equipped with NB Dry technology help absorb sweat and keep the body cool and dry during exercise, helping athletes focus and perform better during competitions.
