MLS and Adidas are once again taking a positive step to raise awareness of the problem of plastic waste in the ocean with the launch of PRIMEBLUE jerseys made from high-performance recycled materials and Parley Marine plastic. MLS clubs will wear the series for the May 27-29 games.

MLS teamed up with Adidas to create PRIMEBLUE jerseys made from plastic waste collected from beaches and coastal areas to reduce pollution in the ocean. Once collected, the plastic waste will be reprocessed into high-performance fibers that can be used to produce clothing or footwear. High performance yarn contains more than 50 percent Parley Marine plastic on every jersey.

In addition to the PRIMEBLUE jerseys all MLS clubs will wear to play in this weekend's games, many are working hard in their local communities to create sustainable programs and educate people about plastic pollution in the ocean. The series is also part of the Green Goals initiative by MLS WORKS, the league's social responsibility platform, which aims to raise awareness of environmental issues through football.
