Hummel has teamed up with English club Southampton to unveil a new home shirt for the 2022-23 season, which is inspired by the classic style worn by the sleek Saints of the early 1980s. In contrast to the colours worn by club legends such as Kevin Keegan, Alan Ball and Charlie George, the bold red centre stripe and centre crest point the club in a bold and innovative new direction.
In detail, a modern geometric design from St Mary's gives the shirt more detail, while the centre emblem is more prominent than its predecessors. The sleeves have two V-shaped logos, taken from Hummel's signature design, and the inner neckline is also emblazoned with the Hummel logo.
As part of the club's sustainability strategy, the Halo Effect, the club is fully committed to making a positive impact on the environment. So this season's shirts, like last season's, will continue to be made from ECO8, a fabric made from recycled plastic bottles.
