Adidas has teamed up with Olympique Lyonnais to release a new home kit for the 2022-23 season, which players will wear at home games. The new kit is designed to pay homage to the team's long history by using a three-colour design -- a white base with two vertical red and blue stripes on the men's and women's shirts -- to continue tradition and highlight the club's unique DNA.

The vertical stripe is located in the center of the jersey. The iconic stripe was used in the 2016-17 season, and it represents the continuation of Adidas' partnership with Lyon, as well as the return of the team's former star Alexandre Lacazette.

The new kit also incorporates V-shaped details in vertical stripes, further reflecting the club's historical roots. The design is a true throwback to the club's roots: in the 1953-54 season, V-shaped elements were used in the Lyon shirt design; Since then, in a series of important matches when the team returned to Ligue 1 after the 1989-90 season and European competition after the 1990-91 season, the V has also appeared on the shirts worn by the team. In addition to Lyon's successful youth system, which has become a benchmark in France and Europe, the new home shirt also pays tribute to the on-field performance of the club and its array of echelons.
The past is gone, the future is here. With its rich club history, the shirt is designed to show that Olympique Lyonnais is moving towards its future.
