The away jerseys are inspired by the Dutch movement De Stijl, which most people know from the distinctive works of Piet Mondrian in the early 20th century. The red and blue blocks on the white jerseys are a nod to the master's famous abstract art.
As part of its "Move To Zero" commitment to sustainability, Nike has been making football gear from recycled polyester made from recycled plastic bottles since 2010. Compared with native polyester, recycled polyester can reduce carbon emissions by up to 30%, helping to reduce the environmental impact of jersey production.
