Nike has teamed up with Liverpool FC to unveil the team's new second away shirt for the 2022-23 season, designed to celebrate the famous flags and banners that have accompanied fans across Europe for decades.
The team's second away shirt has long been associated with European competition and with the Champions League group stage set to kick off this week, Liverpool took the opportunity to pay tribute to the fan tradition that has been a huge part of the team's rich European history and success.
The jerseys are presented in a bold combination of Dark Atomic Teal and Rio Teal, lit by Siren Red.
As is customary, the "97" flame logo on the shirt's back below the collar commemorates the 97 fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough. From the 2022-23 season, the "96" in the logo will be changed to "97" in honour of Andrew Devine, who was the 97th person to leave as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.
Nike jerseys are produced sustainably, with both the player and fan versions made from 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
