Allan Clarke holds the FA Cup aloft, after Leeds United’s win in the Centenary FA Cup Final against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium on 6 May 1972. Clarke, wearing the No8 shirt, scored the only goal of the game with a diving header from a Mick Jones cross early in the second half. Signed by Don Revie, from Leicester City in June 1969, for a then British record transfer fee of £165,000, Clarke made 364 appearances, and scored 151 goals for Leeds between 1969 and 1978.
