Adidas has teamed up with Manchester United to launch the exclusive MUFC x Peter Saville Football collection. A blend of football, music and design, the collection was created by respected designer Peter Saville.
Pleasures Unknown, one of the world's greatest album covers by the British post-punk band Joy Division, is by Savile. It is one of his masterpieces and emblematic of Manchester's cultural spirit.
Now, with a new interpretation of the design, Saville has taken heart rate data from Manchester United's male and female players during matches and turned the pattern around to create the Pulsebeat collection, which represents a true fusion of sport and culture.
The Pulse series figuratively represents Manchester's heartbeat, visually demonstrating the source of the city's unique energy.
"Manchester has a different heartbeat and there is an infectious energy with which people do things. This special joint series is a clever blend of football and music, "said Peter Saville.
